He began his education at Gülhane Military Medical Academy and later turned to artistic pursuits. He went to Japan, where he worked for a time in Tokyo as a dancer and choreographer. In 1990, he moved to Berlin as a member of “Tiyatro Malade.” There, he started working on metal sculptures.

The artist is known for his large metal sculptures and towering steel letter installations. In addition to his studio in Berlin, he has also maintained a studio in Istanbul since 2014.

He is a visiting lecturer in contemporary art at Istanbul Technical University. Many of his works are on public display in Berlin.
